FUTURE Voyagers EXHIBIT
According to the Center for American Progress, 74% of communities of color live in nature-deprived areas. But access is only half the story. Paintings of exploration in museums typically only depict white men, shaping how society pictures the outdoors and who belongs in it.
So Chicago Voyagers, a nonprofit that empowers youth from Chicagoβs most underserved communities through outdoor adventure therapy, challenged history by partnering with diverse local artists to paint the future of exploration: one where adventure knows no gender or color.
